JAIRO (Japanese Institutional Repositories Online) is a portal site for institutional repositories. You can search Japanese academic information (journal articles, theses or dissertations, departmental bulletin papers, research papers, etc.) accumulated in institutional repositories of Japanese universities and academic institutions.
There are 540,000 contents from 84 institutional repositories.as of Oct. 2008.

You can download full-text files of almost contents from original repository sites. Almost contents are free of charge, but some contents are limited access.

Microsoft Translation (automatic translation application) is embedded. Clicking "Automatic translation", bibliographical information, abstract and other information in Japanese are translated to English.

・JAIROからリンクをたどった場合コンテンツが有料である場合がある
・多くは無料
・Microsoft Translationによる機械翻訳機能がついている。書誌・抄録・その他情報の日本語部分が英訳される。
