Kotobank is a free database service which contains a lot of dictionaries and encycropedias published by Asahi Shimbun Shuppan, Kodansha, Shogakukan.
This database allows to search 440 thousand words from 44 reference books including dictionaries, encyclopedias, biographical directories and glossaries. It allows also cross-searching and displays various kinds of relevant information about search term, such as synonyms, related terms, web search, news search, shopping search and so on.
